Internaltionally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC's, often we'll just call ourselves a lactation consultant or IBCLC. people whold IBCLC's include some doctors and nurses as well as other medical professionals. Be sure to look for this credential when choosing a lactation professional as it is the gold standard for lactation professionals.

PMH-C is a Professional, who holds a Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health: these professionals are better equipped and often feel called to specifically support people with perinatal mental health concerns. This certification requires the holder to keep their skills current by mandating that they complete 12 Continuing Education or CE hours every 2 years.
